Go Fish: The Pacifica Pier is known for some of the best fishing in the state of California! The pier is the only one in the Bay Area where you can fish for free, without a license. Salmon, Striped Bass, and Dungeness Crab are some of the fish you can expect to catch, and the kids may even spot a whale or two while you are there.
No need to pack your gear, there are places in town where you can rent everything you need. Fishing at the Pacifica Pier is a great way to spend quality time and unplug with the family.
Be a Beach Bum:
Linda Mar/Pacifica State Beach is one of the best surf beaches in the area, with many local businesses offering lessons for beginners. There's also a great bike/walking trail, the world's most beautiful Taco Bell, and whale watching in the spring.
Sharp Park Beach is one of California’s few black sand beaches. From here, you can enjoy easy access to the local shops and restaurants along Palmetto.

Hikes with a View: Enjoy the wildflowers on your way up to Mori Point for views of the coastline and some possible whale sightings. The bluff protrudes out into the ocean and offers incredible panoramas from Point Reyes to Pedro Point. Benches are available for sitting and enjoying the vista and sunset.
Another great option for all skill levels is Milagra Ridge, as the path is mostly level and paved. Hikers and bikers can take in the views of the city and coastline as they make their way along this trail. The area is also home to several endangered species, including the Mission Blue and San Bruno Elfin Butterflies and the California Red-Legged Frog.
